Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Leo Waters is predicted to be one of the top new talents of 2025. Waters' career began at 15 when he left home to be a professional dancer in Chicago. Although the youngest in his dance crew by 10 years, Waters went on to perform with the likes of Da Baby, Coi Leray, Billie Eilish and more after a few short months leaving high school in Tampa. Aware that dance was his entry point to the world of entertainment, Waters realized his knack and love for songwriting and singing while surrounding himself with touring artists, and soon went on to write and produce his own music from a portable setup while working as a backup dancer. After many false starts from a slew of music execs who promised the world, but didn't deliver, Waters was ready to give up and head home with little hope and money left to his name. However, after a rogue trip to Los Angeles in 2023, Waters was connected to Donn Robb, a legendary Chicago executive producer credited for developing the likes of The Kid Laroi, G Herbo, and Juice Wrld. Robb took Waters under his wing and the two developed several projects over the summer. Many of the songs began naturally growing on TikTok and soon, the pair decided to formalize their relationship with Waters being the first executive production project under Robb's newly formed Groove Garden artist incubator. Leo's first EP On Waters Ave was quietly released independently and met with extensive press from the likes of Pigeons and Planes, Clash Magazine, Sheesh, Ones to Watch, and more and earned nearly 20m+ streams cross platform. Leo went on to receive a variety of co-signs from some of industry's top creatives, including Future, Ty Dolla $ign, Madeintyo, and more. Waters is preparing to launch his second EP at the end of 2024 and to continue to position himself as an up and comer to watch.
